KOBWA hosted the Acting Honourable Minister for Natural Resources and Energy Eswatini, Jabulani Mabuza and his Mozambican counterpart, Honourable Minister for Public Works, Housing & Water Resources, Carlos Alberto Fortes Mesquita and their teams for a tour of water projects within the Komati and Mbuluzi River Basins.

KOBWA Board Chairperson, Mr Archington Thobejane, welcomed the delegates from the 2 countries and expressed their delight as an institution for such a historic visit as it was the first of its kind in KOBWA’s 30 years of existence. CEO, Mr. Trevor Shongwe, made a brief presentation about the formation of KOBWA, her mandate and projects the institution has carried out over the years.

Honourable Minister, Carlos Alberto Fortes Mesquita, appreciated the tour to the Maguga Dam and extended his gratitude to the Management of KOBWA for the way they have managed the dam as an important infrastructure. Honourable Minister Mabuza appreciated the transboundary water relationship between the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Republic of Mozambique established in 1976 which resulted in the tour as means to strengthen the relationship through information sharing.
