The Department is responsible for developing and implementing policies, systems, and procedures that promote organisational effectiveness, good governance, and excellent service delivery. It also supports the organisation in maintaining productive stakeholder relationships, fostering employee development, and ensuring the availability of reliable information and support services.

Human Resources and Fleet Management

The Human Resources and Fleet Management Unit is responsible for the management and development of KOBWA's workforce and transport resources. The Unit ensures that the organisation attracts, develops, and retains competent personnel while maintaining a safe, efficient, and reliable vehicle fleet.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Recruitment, selection, and onboarding of employees;
  • Employee performance management and development;
  • Training, skills development, and succession planning;
  • Administration of employee benefits and payroll support;
  • Employee relations, wellness, and occupational health and safety programmes;
  • Development and implementation of human resource policies and procedures;
  • Management and maintenance of the organisational vehicle fleet;
  • Monitoring vehicle utilisation, licensing, insurance, and fuel consumption; and
  • Coordinating transport and logistical support for operational activities.

Information Technology

The Information Technology (IT) Unit is responsible for the management, maintenance, and security of the organisation's information and communication technology infrastructure. The Unit ensures that employees have access to reliable technology systems that support operational efficiency and informed decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing computer networks, servers, and communication systems;
  • Providing technical support and user assistance;
  • Maintaining cybersecurity measures and data protection controls;
  • Managing software applications and information systems;
  • Supporting digital transformation and business process automation initiatives;
  • Ensuring data integrity, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities;
  • Managing ICT assets and technology upgrades; and
  • Developing and implementing IT policies, standards, and procedures.

Records Management

The Records Management Unit is responsible for ensuring the systematic creation, maintenance, storage, protection, and disposal of organisational records and information assets. The Unit plays a critical role in preserving institutional memory and supporting compliance, accountability, and effective decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing records management policies and procedures;
  • Maintaining physical and electronic records management systems;
  • Ensuring secure storage and retrieval of organisational documents;
  • Managing document retention and disposal schedules;
  • Supporting compliance with legal, regulatory, and governance requirements;
  • Preserving historical and archival records of the organisation;
  • Facilitating access to records for authorised users; and
  • Promoting information governance and records management best practices.

Through these four units, the Corporate Services Department provides the administrative, technological, human resource, and stakeholder support necessary for KOBWA to operate effectively and sustainably.
